Compound Interest and Simple Interest
The below QQI Relay © shows one question at a time, and to proceed to the next question, you need to answer the current one correctly. Decide how many questions you want (you can always finish early if need be).
Choose which types of percentages you would like to deal with (Non-Calculator percentages are 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 25%, 50%, 75%).
Decide whether you want your values to increase, decrease or have a mixture of both.
Pick which type of interest you would like to apply (Simple, Compound or a Random selection) and what the maximum term of the investment should be.
Finally, choose the currency suitable for your location.
When entering answers, remember to include the currency symbol, and that money is given to 2 decimal places.
When the questions appear, type your answer in the boxand click Check Answer to see if you are right. If correct, move on to the next question.

They will each get a different random set of questions, and at the end you can see how they did in the results table. This is great for spicing up an activity as it adds an element of competition to the work.
Get them to set a high number of questions, such as 100, and then get students to answer as many as possible in 5 or 10 minutes. Have a prize for the one with the highest point score (awarding accuracy and speed).
