Areas
Below is a QuickQuestions Interface © for producing random questions on Areas.
It produces a question to calculate the areas of Rectangles, Triangles, Parallelograms, Trapezia, Circles and Annuli (doughnut shapes).
Select which shape you would like to generate, or choose random to get any of the shapes listed.
Then calculate the area of the shape, and check your answer.
There is a 10QQI version of this activity.

Ideas for Teachers
Quickly check your students abilities to calculate the areas of a variety of simple shapes (all the formulae they need to know), by getting them to answer the questions generated on Show Me boards. For circles, a calculator will be needed to use pi to 3 decimal places.
The Annuli questions provide a good extension for the more able, starting to look at compound shapes.
